"Danza Giovani Citta Di Sanremo"

The international competition will articulate in two sections:
Saturday 9th of July 2005Preliminary
Sunday 10th of July 2005 Finals and Gala
The competition previews three various sections: Classical
Modern
Choreographic Composition
For the classical and modern sections can approach young people dancers in the ages comprised between 12 and 17 years for Juniors and between 18 and 24 for Seniors category. For the choreographic composition every type of style, no age limit, females or males and compositions from 3 to a maximum of 16 dancers.
Regulations
Article 1
Conditions of Participation
The participants of the competition are subdivided into two categories Juniors and Seniors (females and males)
The Juniors Category is classified to the young dancers in the age between 12 (as of 9th of July 2005) and 17 (Not to supercede the 9th of July 2005)
The seniors category is classified to the dancers in the age range between 18 (as of 9th of July 2005) and 24 (as of 9th of July 2005)
In the two categories the contenders can introduce themselves alone or in Brace.
In order to take part in the competition for dancers the candidates will have to send a registered letter with the following documents:
A: Question of registration filled out completely.
B: Copy of Birth Certificate
C: Certificate of healthy and sturdy physical condition
D: Photocopy of the passport for those who come from a foreign country or from extra communitarian countries.

F: Two photos (passport sized)

The last day of registration is on the 30th of June 2005. It must be post marked by no later then this date to be considered.
Article 2
The competition will be held in Sanremo at the Ariston theatre on the 9th and 10th of July, on via Mateotti 212
Article 3
The participants will receive daily study of classical lessons for the duration of the competition, with a calendar of timetables of the classes that will be in the showcase of the theatre before the beginning of the competition.
Article 4
Jury
The Jury will be composed of experts from Italy and international personalities from the Dancing world.
The decisions of the jury are final and absolute.
Article 5
Preliminary
Classical Section
5\1 The candidates have to execute the following
A: a variation, if the candidate is single
B: a Pas De Deux, if the two candidates introduce themselves in brace with the variations.
5\2 The contenders of the classical section will be able to choose preferably between the variation indicated bellow or other from the traditional repertoire.
Apollo Musagete (Balanchine - Stravinsky single variations or Pas de Deux) Tchaikovsi Pas de Deux (Balanchine, single variations or Pas de Deux) Coppelia, Don Quixote, Esmeralda, Flames of Paris (Assafiev - Vainonen) Giselle, Grand Pas Classique (Auber - Gsovsky) Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, La Fille Mal Garde, La Silfide, Les Silfides (Chopin - Fokine), The Nutcracker, Naples, Notre Dame de Paris (Jarre-Petit), Paquita, Raymonda, Romeo and Juliet (Prokofiev Cranko or MacMillan) Sylvia
5\3Dancers who will introduce Him/her self in brace just like a partner (not concurrent) will not be judged. The candidates of each category who will introduce themselves in variations of pas de deux will be judged individually
5\4 The candidates off the classical section (category juniors) can introduce variations (always encouraged to use the traditional repertoire ) purposely composed that they hold where relative technical level and re enter in the maximum duration of 3 minutes.
5\5 The candidates will have to adhere strictly to the execution of the choreographic variations in which only elements of academic classic technique evidence themselves.
5\6 the jury will evaluate, for the classical section (juniors and seniors) the composition corresponding to all the prescribed qualities.
Article 6
Modern Section
6\1 The candidates for the modern section, contemporary and jazz (free variations) will have always to execute a variation of maximum of 3 minutes.
6\2 the contenders can introduces themselves alone or in brace
Article 7
Finals
7\1 the candidates admitted to the finals are the ones who have exceeded the preliminary.
7\2 All the candidates who are admitted to the finals have to wear relative character costumes of the scene they interpret.
7\3 The jury will establish, with unquestionable judgement, (guaranteed from a civil employer of the common of Sanremo) the winner of the international competition of dance "Danza Giovani Citta di Sanremo 2005". To which they will give the previewed prizes in the ceremony of the Big Gala.
Article 8
8\1 The single variations of the several sections classic, contemporary, and Jazz can not exceed the 3 minutes (penalty of elimination if advanced 20 seconds beyond the maximum time).
8\2 for those who will introduce themselves in brace (for the classic section) the maximum time will be the same as the one that corresponds to the traditional repertoire (pas de Deux and variations).
8\3 for those who will introduce themselves in brace for the modern section the maximum time for the execution is 6 min.
Article 9
For all participants
9\1 the candidates have to provided the music recorded on cassettes or CD. Not professional recordings (because imperfect, with noises) can be refused from jury and therefore cause of elimination from the competition.
9\2 All the candidates have to provide the costumes of the scenes in the sprit of the variations they introduce during the finals.
Article 10
Choreographic composition section
10\1 Candidates-Choreographers can participate without age limits, females or males, free style of composition but with a minimum of thee to sixteen elements.
10\2 the last term for the presentation to the choreographic composition expires on 30th of June 2005.
10\3 The time of the choreographic composition can not exceed 7 minutes (penalty of elimination if advanced 30 seconds beyond the maximum time).
10\4 the choreographers have to send two formed photos (passport size) and resume. Attached to the registration card completed in full and the following documents of every member of the group:
A. Birth certificate
B. Certificate of health and sturdy physical constitution.
C. One photo ticket
D. Authorization of the parents that raises the organization of the competition from every responsibility (if they are minors)
E. Receipt of payment of 95 Euro for groups of three. For every person over three the sum of 15 Euro must be added. The sum is not refundable and must be paid to the order of:

Choreographic Composition :
1,000 EuroSPECIAL PRIZE: Professional contract for a new production with the Ariston Pro Ballet Sanremo company
The cash prizes will be paid through a bank transfer within sixty days from the date of the competition
Article 12
All the finalists and winners will participate in the :Great Gala: on the evening of July 10 with public, reporters, dancers and the choreographers invited for the special event.
The candidate admitted to the competition authorizes automatically the organization to use his or her own image for promotional goals.
During the competitions days-unauthorized people (photographers and parents etc ) WILL NOT be admitted into the theatre.
Authorized people will be supplied with a special pass.
Expenses of travel and stay are not included
The Foro di Sanremo is competent for any controversy
The organization will help the participants with a list of hotels, service lodgings and restaurants in common with the city of Sanremo.
Nobody will be able allowed to attend the preliminary and the finals(that will be the exclusive job of the jury).
An official photograph will be chosen by the organization for the time of the competition.

13\2 It will not be admitted to put on stage scenes, props and objects that occupy space (except for one or two chairs), use make up or creams for the body, neither to use liquid substances, powder or similar that can create damage to the dance floor and difficulty to the continuation of the competition.
Article 14
The jury will be able to signal single elements (not winners) to be considered for use of scholarship or other kind of prizes promoted from the artistic direction of the competition.
